शास्त्रोक्त (वैदिक) महत्त्व: आयुर्वेदिक ग्रंथों में 20 प्रकार के कृमियों, गोलकृमि आदि का उल्लेख है। चरक सूत्र में 'विडंगो कृमिघ्नानाम्' कहा गया है। विडंग कृमियों के उपचार की सर्वोत्तम औषधीय वनस्पति मानी गई है। कृमि हटाने के लिए अजवायन और मोतीचूना जल भी उपयोगी बताए गए हैं। इन सबको मिलाकर कृमि हर बूँद बनाई जाती हैं।
