शास्त्रोक्त (वैदिक) महत्त्व: आयुर्वेद में इस रूप को लेपन अर्थात शरीर पर लगाने की एक विधि माना गया है। चूर्ण के कण सूक्ष्म होने से त्वचा के रोमछिद्रों में आसानी से पहुँचते हैं और वहाँ जमा विषाक्त तत्त्व व दुर्गंध साफ करके रोमछिद्र खोलते हैं। पूजा से पहले भस्म लगाने की परंपरा है; उसी प्रकार की भस्म इस टेलकम पाउडर में उपयोग की गई है।

Shastrokt (Vedic) Importance : This form is also a type of ‘lepan’ or ‘application on body’ as per Ayurveda. As the powder particles are fine, they enter the skin pores easily, clean out the toxins and bad odour accumulated there, and open the pores. It is a ritual to apply Bhasma before offering prayers, the same Bhasmas have been used in this talcum powder.
